Originally incorporated as the Missouri Public Expenditure Survey in 1940, the Taxpayers Research Institute of Missouri was formed to encourage efficiency in government by providing quality research and putting that research in the hands of the taxpayers of Missouri, including business taxpayers that were often ignored in tax discussions.  Today, the Institute provides quality research and lobbying services on behalf of business taxpayers.  Not only is the Taxpayers Research Institute of Missouri the oldest organization of its kind in Missouri, it has the most experienced staff of any statewide tax research organization in Missouri.
