Unemployment drops to its lowest in nine years at 4.6 percent in November

The unemployment rate dropped to 4.6 percent in November, the lowest in nine years, according to numbers released today. The U.S economy added 178,000 jobs last month, dropping unemployment to the lowest it’s been since before the recession.

“Between surging consumer confidence levels, a booming stock market and home prices back above pre-recession levels, a number of boxes indicative of a healthy economy are being checked-off,” said Bankrate.com Senior Economic Analyst, Mark Hamrick.
