Plaintiffs' attorney firms invest in Republican Lt. Governor primary

By Ray McCarty, president/CEO, Associated Industries of Missouri

August 5, 2024 - In another article, we detailed the amount of trial attorney money given to the leading Republican candidates for governor. Now, we take a look at the Lt. Governor race.

While David Wasinger has reported the most money in his campaign account to date, most of the $2,778,142 he has committed to the race is a loan of his own money to his campaign and was not raised from others. Sen. Lincoln Hough's independent PAC has raised the most money from others in this race with $2,120,472 reported. Sen. Holly Rehder's independent PAC has raised $153,156 to date.

Contributions identified as coming from plaintiff's attorneys comprised 7.8% of Sen. Rehder's contributions, 5.6% of Sen. Hough's contributions, and 0.3% of David Wasinger's total reported contributions.

With the primary election only hours away, unfortunately, this will be the last report before the election. We will try to do similar analyses before the general election in November so you know where the candidates have raised the money they are using to get your votes.

DON'T FORGET TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE CANDIDATE TOMORROW!!!
