Boeing set to deliver first of delayed KC-46 tanker jets

According to Reuters, McConnell Air Force base in Kansas is set to receive the Boeing KC-46 tanker jet this month.

Boeing, has spent approximately $3 billion on the production of the tanker jet. The U.S. Air Force has accepted the first delivery, a spokesperson told Reuters Thursday.

“Significant engineering work” was done to fix the jets’ refueling mechanisms, responsiveness and monitors, among other features.

As many as four of the planned 179 tankers could land at McConnell this month.
